You used to buy me flowers, is a play written and produced by Kevin Treasure charting one woman’s struggle to deal with the pain of a failing marriage, an abusive partner, raising her children, keeping her faith, the heartache of adultery and the aftermath that follows, but through her ordeal, having the faith to keep her dream alive.

The story is an emotional rollercoaster featuring family relationships, violence, adultery and redemption, with musical scores from different genres.

The initial story was written over ten years ago and has been adapted for the stage and now completed this is the time to bring it the production to life, but we need your help.

 

With touching performances and songs that will move you to tears, “You used to buy me Flowers” is one woman’s struggle to overcome against all the odds.

Experience the trials and triumphs of one woman’s battle and survival through domestic violence, the shame of infidelity and the struggle with forgiveness. This play demonstrates a woman’s fight to continue to keep her head up and her family together when everything  else is falling apart.

THE FACTS:

  • 1 in 4 Women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime

  • Every 30 seconds the police receive a call for help relating to domestic abuse

  • On average, one woman is killed by an abusive partner or ex every five days in England and Wales.

  • 2,000,000 people in the UK suffer from some form of domestic abuse

  • It takes, on average, 7 attempts before a woman is able to leave for good.

  • 1,300,000 are female victims (8.2% of the population)

My Journey To The Story

As a child growing up in a one parent family, my earliest years, I can remember my mother suffering domestic violence at the hands of a partner, I don’t remember much at that young age, but I do remember that incident, it left an indelible mark on me....(Click on the image for more )
